An alcoholic drink is a drink containing alcohol or ethanol contains. Alcoholic beverages are made by fermentation of sugar-containing liquids, grains – used for beer and sake, fruit – like grapes for wine, molasses – various other drinks.
A strong alcoholic beverage is produced if the result of the liquid is distilled.
Beverages containing less than fifteen percent by volume are light alcoholic beverages and are called “weak alcoholic”. Beverages containing more than fifteen percent alcohol by volume are high-alcohol and called “strong alcoholic”. By distillation of low-alcoholic beverages (or liquid) you get a highly alcoholic beverage or a “spirit” obtained as whiskey, brandy, rum and the like. Also, liquor is included in the highly-alcoholic drinks. A high-alcoholic drink is also referred to as spirits.
Beverages to which alcohol is extracted, have thereby altered taste sensation. Wine and beer not only tastes different, they are not even strictly wine or beer because the more authentic part of alcohol. The mineral oils, fragrance – and flavors in beverages without alcohol behave differently.
Alcoholic beverages are usually not allowed to people under 18 years – to be sold or donated.
