The South Bank Parklands is sure to charm nature lovers. The preserve features a café located in the City Botanic Gardens, perfect for lunching among the foliage. Tandem bicycles are available to rent allowing visitors to see a lot of the park and a restful afternoon can be found on the comfortable lawn. The Queensland Art Gallery is located next to the Parklands and is sure to attract art enthusiasts.

Visitors can experience Brisbane from a City Cat on the Brisbane River. This affordable expedition begins in St. Lucia and ends in Hamilton, a total distance of 19 kilometres. Cruises are offered to the colonial prison located on St Helena Island in Moreton Bay and history admirers will appreciate the informational tour.

Don’t miss the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary that features more than 130 of these special creatures. It is the largest koala preserve and care takers will allow visitors to hold one and have a picture taken. Kangaroos can be hand fed in the sanctuary and a sheep dog show is held showing what these clever dogs are capable of.

The Australia Zoo will thrill animal lovers by offering a unique crocodile experience. Visitors can see an actual crocodile attack from the safety of the 5,000 foot Crocoseum. The zoo features care takers wandering with creatures such as snakes, tortoises and wombats allowing guests to see them up close.

An adventure is waiting for thrill seekers with the Brisbane Story Bridge that can be climbed in 2 and ½ hours providing an amazing 360 degree view. Also, the Story Bridge Hotel is a historic place to enjoy a perfectly grilled steak or hungry climbers may prefer a picnic under the bridge at Captain Burke Park.

Vacationers can enjoy nature at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens with Japanese gardens, a tremendous tropical exhibition and the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium. The garden also features different themed areas for an exceptional day.
